A mechanical engineer's typical day depends heavily on whether you work in design, manufacturing, maintenance, or research. Design engineers might spend several hours using computer-aided design (CAD) software to model parts or systems, reviewing technical drawings, and checking calculations. They often collaborate with colleagues to refine designs based on performance requirements, cost constraints, and manufacturing feasibility.
