Suno has released its v6 AI music model, a significant shift in how the company approaches music generation. According to Suno CEO Jack Brody, this version represents a fresh start: it was 'trained from the ground up, with a new set of data that does not include the same data that our previous models were trained on.'

The v6 model is notably Suno's first developed with support from the record industry. The training dataset includes licensed content, a departure from earlier approaches that had drawn criticism from music creators and rights holders concerned about unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
