Google has signed what it describes as its largest rice-methane carbon credit deal, partnering with Indian startup Mitti Labs. The four-year agreement targets methane reduction from rice farming operations in India.

The deal will eventually reach approximately 100,000 hectares of rice farms spread across three Indian states. This represents a significant commitment to addressing agricultural emissions, one of the harder-to-tackle sources of greenhouse gases.
