Overview

California Baptist University (CBU) is a private, Christian faith-based institution located in Riverside, California, situated on a 162-acre campus in the historic Magnolia Avenue district. Founded 75 years ago, CBU is built around the core belief that each person has been created for a unique purpose. The university integrates academics with spiritual and social development, offering a Christ-centered educational experience. CBU is recognized as the largest Christian university in California and ranks among the top Christian colleges in America according to Niche rankings, as well as among the top 35 regional universities in the West according to U.S. News & World Report.

Programs & Offerings

CBU offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and online programs across multiple colleges and schools. The scraped homepage mentions specific examples including Aviation Flight (B.S.), Theory and Composition (B.M.), and Athletic Training (M.S.), though a comprehensive list of all engineering and technical programs is not provided in the available text. The university advertises both traditional residential study and flexible online learning options. Students can search for programs by keyword through the university's program finder tool. For a complete and current list of all available engineering and technical programs, prospective students should visit CBU's official Academics or Program Finder pages.

How to Join

CBU accepts applications through an online portal on its website. The university offers multiple admission pathways: traditional undergraduate enrollment, graduate programs, online options, and international student admission. Prospective students can request information, schedule a visit, or apply directly through the CBU website. For current admission requirements, application deadlines, and specific documentation needed, check the official Admissions & Aid section of CBU's website, as these details change annually.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

CBU emphasizes financial support as part of its mission, stating it provides 'financial support' to help students realize their purpose. A current promotional offer mentioned on the homepage offers new online students the first class free (up to $1,623) when enrolling in two Fall 2026 courses, though this is a limited-time offer. For comprehensive information about scholarship opportunities, merit-based aid, need-based aid, and current financial aid packages, prospective students should visit the official Tuition & Financial Aid page or contact the admissions office directly.

Careers & Jobs

The homepage mentions a 'Center for Career and Professional Development' available to students. CBU states that its graduates are 'challenged to become individuals whose skills, integrity and sense of purpose glorify God and distinguish them in the workplace and in the world.' The university highlights graduate career outcomes through alumni stories (such as a graduate working as a first officer with SkyWest Airlines and another as an athletic trainer with the Buffalo Bills). For detailed information about career services, internship opportunities, and employer partnerships, students should contact the Center for Career and Professional Development directly.

Tuition fees, deadlines and exact admission requirements change often - always confirm current details on the university's official website before applying.
